Ahepan and WWII Vet Peter S. Zavitsanos Celebrates His 95th Birthday

EASTON, PA – Peter S. Zavitsanos, the Secretary and Treasurer of AHEPA Chapter #56 which was named in his honor last year, celebrated his 95th birthday on September 30.

A World War II veteran who served in China, Burma and India, Zavitsanos is a life member of AHEPA and has been his Chapter’s Secretary since 1954.

Last year, a dinner was held at the Marblehead restaurant in Easton with Chapter President Joseph Black and AHEPA dignitaries in attendance. The Chairman of the Board of Governors George Zissis was the Master of Ceremonies.

Zavitsanos’ wife, Xanthe, passed away in 2016. He has two daughters, Katherine and Athena.

We wish him the best on his special day and thank him for his service.

In honor of his birthday this year, Zavitsanos received a letter from the White House signed by President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

The text of the letter follows:

Dear Mr. Zavitsanos,
