CHERRY HILL, NJ – AHEPA’s Philadelphia and Delaware Valley region held a mass initiation on November 9. Ahepans and new members came from all over to join in what is a yearly event held at the AHEPA Hall in the Danielle Kousoulis Greek Center at St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church in Cherry Hill, NJ. This annual event drew over 150 members from Cherry Hill, Toms River, Center City Philadelphia, Upper Darby, Paramus, and even from North Carolina.
The members were treated to dinner by host Chapter Camden 69 of Cherry Hill. They were given a centennial tour of the archives of the 97-year-old chapter. The initiations of new members from various chapters including Hercules/Spartan 26 of Philadelphia and Thermopylae 445 of Upper Darby were led by District Governor Savvas Kyriacou along with District Secretary Yiannis Kontolios and District Treasurer Lou Stefanou. They also presented the host Chapter President Cosmas Diamantis with a special award as President of the Year.

Historical accounts in honor of the occasion were given by Past District Governor Demetrios Rozanitis. The highlight of the evening was an address by the immediate past president of AHEPA, George Horiates, Esq. on the current state of affairs between the U.S., Greece and Cyprus and the need to continue and improve upon our advocacy.
