AHEPA Hempstead Appeal to Help Support Chris Yioupis’ Medical Needs

NEW YORK – AHEPA Constantine Cassis Chapter No.170 of Hempstead, NY, on August 15 shared an appeal to help support one its members, Leonidas Yioupis, who set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for his brother, Chris Yioupis, who suffered a medical emergency on July 30 in Greece.

Constantine Cassis Chapter President Anastasi Stampolis shared the following with The National Herald via email: “One of our Chapter 170 members Leo Yioupis is asking for your support to help raise funds for medical costs for his brother Chris who suffered a heart attack two weeks ago while on vacation with family in Athens, Greece. The funds will help cover his extensive medical needs and costs while in the hospital and as Chris recovers he will need medical transport to get back home to continue his care in the U.S. Any support is greatly appreciated and please continue to share.”

According to the GoFundMe page, “While vacationing in Greece with his family, Chris suffered a major heart attack and cardiac arrest on July 30. He was rushed to Metropolitan Hospital in Athens and remains there under critical care. Your support is greatly needed and will help cover Chris’ medical expenses.”

“The costs for intensive care in the hospital, medical intervention, treatments, and medications have already been significant,” the statement on the GoFundMe page continues. “Chris will also need medical transportation home once he stabilizes so he can get the best care possible back in the US. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Please forward to your family and friends.”
