AHEPA Family of Astoria Hosts Coffee Hour at St. Demetrios

ASTORIA – The AHEPA Family of Astoria, including Hermes AHEPA Chapter 186 and Ilion DOP Chapter 135, hosted coffee hour at St. Demetrios Cathedral downstairs in the church hall on March 27. They had two interesting multimedia presentations on Greek Independence Day by Brother Peter Giakoumis on The Greek Revolution from Official British Reports 1821-1822 and by Brother Vassilios Chrissochos on 1821: The Liberation of Greece. Closing remarks were given by Christopher Tripoulas who is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Communications at St. John’s University and CUNY LaGuardia Community College.

The newly appointed presiding priest of St. Demetrios Cathedral Fr. Vasileios Tsourlis blessed the meeting. He was excited to meet everyone and to establish a stronger relationship with the Astoria AHEPA Family.
