ELMONT, NY – Who says AHEPA members have no fun? On November 7, AHEPA District 6 held its first hockey night event at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. Twenty-six (26) members of AHEPA and the Daughters of Penelope with their families from various chapters saw the New York Islanders beat the Calgary Flames in overtime 4-3. “Everyone in attendance had a great time and we are looking forward to doing this again next year,” said District 6 Governor Dean Moskos in a statement via email, which continued: “District 6 chapters once again supported this unique, fun-filled evening. Special thanks to Brother George Kakivelis, Vice President of the Gus Cherevas Estia-Pindus Chapter 326 from Flushing, NY, who took the initiative to organize this event on behalf of the District.”
