After 14 Months, Panagiota Tsilfides Still Revels in Traditional Greek Wedding

Panagiota Tsilfides and James Giansante were married in Norwalk, Connecticut’s St. George Greek Orthodox Church in June 2023 – just the way they wanted it – and she said they’re still thinking about the dream union.

“If  we weren’t going to get married in Greece, it was pretty much (decided) that we were going to get married at St. George,” she told CTInsider about the church she began attending as a child and where her husband embraced the culture and learned Greek dancing.

They were college sweethearts and she long wanted a traditional Greek wedding.

“I’ve seen so many of my cousins’ and family members’ (weddings) at St. George. I remember going there as a kid and…looking at the altar and being like, ‘Oh, I’m going to marry [the] man of my dreams there one day.’”

Her family held a celebration before the wedding, and she wrote the names of the single women in the bridal party on the bottom of her shoe to ensure they would marry also.
