Aegialis Hotel & Spa on Amorgos Offers Great Hospitality and Spectacular Views

The idyllic views of Amorgos await guests at the five-star Aegialis Hotel & Spa. With an impressive array of amenities and activities, Aegialis offers the experience of a lifetime for visitors to the beautiful, though perhaps less-well-known, Cycladic island.

A previous guest commenting on Trip Advisor said of their stay at Aegialis: “Amazing place with the best staff! We were able to stay here for six days in April for a retreat. The grounds were always immaculate and the food and drinks were delicious. I cannot express how amazing the staff treated us. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable, not wanting for a single thing and honestly took care of us like we were family. They give a new meaning to the word hospitality. Thank you for an amazing trip!”

Another previous guest said: “Aegialis Hotel was exceptional! From the friendly staff to the well-appointed accommodations and breathtaking views from our private balcony, we were very satisfied. Amorgos Island is quaint, memorable, and beautiful! Highly recommended especially for peace and relaxation.”

Of the Spa, an appreciative guest commented: “Best Spa I have visited! It is truly heaven on earth for body and soul. I will come back again and again.”

Irene Giannakopoulos, owner and CEO of Aegialis Tours – Aegialis Hotel & Spa, spoke with The National Herald about Aegialis and what makes this location and hotel the ideal choice for travelers in the Cyclades.

TNH: What can visitors expect when they choose Aegialis Hotel and Spa for their vacation?

Irene Giannakopoulos: Travelers to the beautiful Amorgos island, who choose the five-star Aegialis Hotel & Spa for their stay, will feel like home, away from home. A warm welcome is awaiting everyone, with personal and genuine care for a memorable experience. The entire staff is smiling, happy, and ready to satisfy all clients’ wishes. The hotel itself offers a great energy with the amazing views which can be enjoyed from every point of its grounds. The Ambrosia Gallery restaurant, with its wonderful team, caters for all kinds of organic dishes, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Cooking classes and wine tasting take place very often, as well as Greek Nights with live music and dancing.

TNH: What types of activities do guests enjoy the most?

IG: Many activities are organized by the hotel! Everyone enjoys the Island tour, with visits to the famous 1000-year-old Byzantine Monastery of Hozoviotissa built 300 meters above the water, and the traditional capital Chora with the Archaeological, Cultural, and Byzantine museums, the windmills, and the Venetian Castle. Also the 16th century Monastery of Saint George Valsamitis is of great interest, as it is also the location of the ancient water oracle dedicated to Apollo. The cave with the water is still in the church.

TNH: What are some of the highlights of the island of Amorgos and Aegialis in particular?

IG: All ten villages of Amorgos are beautiful and picturesque, with rich traditions, culture, and special Cycladic architecture. The Tender Boat Experience is very popular as well, as guests enjoy beautiful sea rides, snorkeling, and swimming in remote beaches, with amazing picnics, all personally pampered by the hotel’s personnel.

The herbal tour with a visit to the traditional House in Tholaria Village is of great interest, as guests can see a local house with its cellar, the stone oven, and a distillery of essential oils from the local herbs. The herbs can be encountered during Hiking tours, which are also very popular as there are numerous historic paths on Amorgos.

TNH: What amenities are available for guests at Aegialis?

IG: The hotel’s Lalon Idor Spa offers amazing facilities, which can be enjoyed free of charge by all guests (Sauna, hamam, Jacuzzi, indoor seawater pool and gym). Face and body treatments are offered by experienced therapists, and there is a free yoga class daily for anyone interested. Guests enjoy the ‘Wellness’ feeling, which is a combination of all above-mentioned combinations of food, Spa, yoga, hiking, and relaxation.

The hotel features 45 superior rooms, and 15 different Suites, of various sizes and styles, all with spectacular sea views.

There are six Shalas from 50 to 300 sq. meters, suitable for meetings, conferences, and yoga retreats.

Amorgos and Aegialis Hotel & Spa, is also the perfect choice for weddings and romantic honeymoons.
