Aegean Airlines Stopping International Flights During COVID-19 Crisis

March 24, 2020

ATHENS – With Greece’s international airport essentially shut down over the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic, Aegean Airlines will suspend all international flights as of March 26 until April 30 for now.

That came after more restrictions imposed by the New Democracy government to fight the spread of the dreaded and deadly disease that has overtaken much of the world and especially infested the European Union.

Aegean said the only exception will be for maintenance of some weekly services between Athens and Brussels for Greece to remain in contact with the center of the EU after the company had already cut its flying schedule 90 percent over restrictions and travel and to safeguard the health of passengers, crews and staff although it wasn’t said if they will continue to be paid during the hiatus and its duration.
