Actor Alexander Patsos on His Latest Film Project

March 17, 2021

NEW YORK – Actor Alexander Patsos shared his latest film project with The National Herald. He costars in Vedic Nights, the first live-action motion picture in English based on the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (Bhāgavata Purāna), the jewel of the Vedic literature from ancient India, considered by many to be one of the oldest written texts in the world, according to the film’s website.

An exclusive clip is available online: https://vimeo.com/524960528/2b7e620dc0.

Patsos said of the film, “The project was ambitious, and the plot is intriguing, but director Jean Michel and the crew were always on point, and we were able to get it done. Jean Michel is a talented director that gives his actors the freedom and space to create. Moments like these keep me going as an artist.”

According to the film’s description, in a primitive world 200 years in the future a young girl witnesses her friends ambushed and killed in a violent attack. She is saved by a reclusive sage who teaches her survival techniques, including how to overcome the illusions inherent to the material world. To illustrate this teaching he recites a tale about a young artist living in New York City, circa 2018. This artist passionately desires success and fame, and after signing a lucrative contract with mysterious clients, slowly begins to lose control over what he creates. In both plot lines divine personalities – in disguise – intermingle with the human beings to test and provoke them to overcome their present limitations.

Besides being an actor, Patsos is a musician, writer, cinematographer, model, and director of Greek and Italian descent. His father, Dimitri, hails from Kalamata, and his Italian-American mother, Cheryl, has roots in Rome and Calabria.

Born in Freeport, NY, Patsos moved, at age 18, to the East Village and gradually became immersed in the New York rock music scene. Patsos’ work behind the camera began with directing music videos and short films, but more recently, he began to focus on his work in front of the camera.
