Achtsioglou: Greek Govt Has Completely Lost Control of the Situation

ΑΤΗΕΝS — "If we said that Finance Minister Christos Staikouras suprised us today we would not be very sincere," commented main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance sector-head for economic issues Effie Achtsioglou on Monday, in a statement about Staikouras' earlier announcements.

"The finance minister repeated in yet another press briefing his already known habit of announcings that already exist and don't provide solutions to the economic impasse as something new," she said.

"On the other hand, we heard nothing about the settlement and writing-off of debts … or about covering the cost of preserving jobs position and labour relations," Achtsioglou said.

"With the citizens locked in their homes, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis partying in Ikaria and Staikouras repeating the same things over and over, this government only proves that it has completely lost control of the situtation but also that it does not appear unduly concerned," she added.
