ATHENS – Food producers in Greece are looking for employees; young Greeks need jobs. The ReGeneration Academy for Food Innovation, an intensive 75-hour program co-organized by New Agriculture for a New Generation and ReGeneration, with support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), offers people 29 and younger who are interested in the food industry an entry point.
The program, designed in collaboration with food industry experts and scientists from Greek universities and the Rutgers University in the U.S., covers topics like the global nutrition system and trends, food quality and safety management, new product development, and more. It will culminate in an experiential three-day workshop in Vamvakou, Laconia, held in collaboration with the Vamvakou Revival organization.
The academy is part of New Agriculture for a New Generation, which aims to create career opportunities and entrepreneurship for youth in the Agrifood sector in Greece. New Agriculture for a New Generation is led by Rutgers University in partnership with the Agricultural University of Athens and the American Farm School and is made possible by an exclusive grant from SNF.
