Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
SHEBOYGAN, WI – Emmanuil Fergadakis, 50, the owner of Judi’s Place restaurant in Sheboygan, WI was killed in an accident at his farm on South Business Drive.
Fergadakis, whose friends was called his Manoli and his wife, Judi Fergadakis, own three restaurants: Breaking Bread Banquet Hall in Sheboygan, Judi’s Place in Oostburg and P.J. Piper Pancake House in Cedarburg.
Judi’s Place website notes that Fergadakis grew up on the Greek island of Crete working on his family farm. When he was 23, he came to Wisconsin and began his restaurant career. He was a textbook entrepreneur, owning businesses, farming, hunting, gardening and making his own wine.
Notes of condolence were posted on the door of Judi’s this week, which was closed on Tuesday.
Fergadakis is survived by his wife, four children Peter, Cali, Despina and Eirini and his mother, two brothers and two sisters.
A visitation will be held at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St. on Sunday, Jan. 25 from 2 to 5 PM.
The funeral will take place at 11 PM Monday, Jan. 25 at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Milwaukee.
