57-Year-Old Greek Arrested for Possession of Heroin

THESSALONIKI — A 57-year-old man accused of possessing over 4.5 kilos of heroin was arrested in Thessaloniki alleged to be member of an organized drug trafficking ring that operates in Thessaloniki and Athens.

The police confiscated 9 packages of heroin, weighing 4 kilos and 602 grams, in his house as well as of 73,000 euros cash, which is allegedly linked to drug trafficking.

According to police, the money was found well hidden between clothes, under a table, in foam insulation material and in a floor lamp.

The arrested, a Greek national, was sent to the prosecutor.
