Christodoulides Visit to DC Ends

WASHINGTON, DC – As the world can barely keep up with the latest explosions – literally – all around them, the people of Cyprus still have hopes that their 40 year old tragedy can have a happy ending.

Although there is little positive news coming out of the latest round of re-unification talks, Cyprus’ Government Spokesman Nicos  Christodoulides finished a visit to Washington and talks that indicate U.S. -Cyprus relations are at their best in years

Christodoulides met with US Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Amanda Sloat. They discussed issues concerning Greece, Cyprus and Turkey, as a follow up of meetings the US official held in Nicosia.

Discussions were also held about bi-lateral relations between Cyprus and the USA, including a meeting between President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades with US Vice President Joe Biden in September.
