New Brooklyn B.P. Visits Three Hierarchs

Eric Adams, the new Borough President of Brooklyn, recently visited the Church of the Three Hierarchs on the occasion of its feast day and the celebration of Greek Letters. The pastor, Very Rev. Eugene Pappas, was joined for vespers services by Bishop Sevastianos of Zela, who represented Archbishop Demetrios, and local clergy . During the reception in that followed, Tom Dushias, AHEPA District #6 Governor, presented AHEPA Supreme President Anthony Kouzounis  with a check for $10,000 to assist people in need in Greece. It will be donated to Apostoli-Mission, the social service arm of the Church of Greece. Also present were George Iliopoulos, Consul General of Greece, and Ambassador  Vasilios Philippou, Consul General of Cyprus.

Kouzounis, who travelled from Texas to attend the event, was presented with the annual Hellenic Heritage Award, which was first presented 12 years ago to TNH Publisher Antonis H. Diamataris.

Attorney Theodore Pavlounis served as the evening’s MC.
