Do you have some leftover bubbles from your New Year’s party, or just want something fizzy and fun that looks festive in a flute? I couldn’t help myself with the alliterations. Well, there are lots of options for cocktails that feature sparkling wine. This one is pretty in pink, and easy as 1 – 2 – cheers.
Ingredients (for a yield of 8 cocktails)
2 cups pear nectar
½ cup unsweetened cranberry juice
Sparkling wine (Prosecco, Cava, Champagne, etc.) to top off
Combine the pear nectar and cranberry juice. If you’re making this in bulk for a party, you can do this part up to three days in advance for a pre-made cocktail mix. Pour evenly into champagne flutes, then fill to the top with your sparkler of choice. Personally for this recipe, I’d go with an Italian Prosecco for a nice level of sweetness. Garnish with cranberries and/or raspberries. If you want something even sweeter, substitute ¾ cup of cranberry cocktail for the unsweetened juice. If you want something the kids can enjoy as well, substitute seltzer for the sparkling wine!
