Antetokounmpo Shines In Buck’s Loss

BROOKLYN – Rookie swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo, the 19-year-old Nigerian from Greece who was the first pick in the NBA draft for the Milwaukee Bucks, began to show his promise in his club’s 104-93 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Dec. 27, wracking up a double-double: 16 points and 10 rebounds.

It was a bright spot for the Bucks loss to the lowly Nets who had high hopes this season after trading for perennial Boston Celtic All-Stars Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, who have failed to deliver for the Brooklynites before both scored double figures to beat Milwaukee and end a losing streak.

The raw Antetokounmpo, who is still developing, is seen as a project for the Bucks but one with a lot of talent amid hopes he can bring up the cellar dwellers to some respectability.
