Councilman Vacca Visits Zoodohos Peghe

THE BRONX – New York City Council Member James Vacca visited the Greek American Institute, located on November 22 for Reader’s Day, which he has attended for 10 years, each year it has been held. During his visit, he met with Principal Anne Prokop and Father Sylvester Berberis, pastor of the Church of the Zoodohos Peghe – The Life-Giving Fountain of The Virgin Mary.

He also visited Ms. Helen Zapantis’ 5th Grade class and read a story about the first Thanksgiving to her students. Vacca also discussed his job as a City Council Member, as well as the anniversary of President Kennedy’s assassination and Greece’s recent qualification for the 2014 World Cup (he is wearing a soccer scarf for the Greek national team). Prokop called the Council Member a big supporter of the school and the parish.
