ATHENS – “Good cooperation among the involved parties and calmness are necessary for addressing the situation with the greatest possible success,” said the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Tourist and Travel Agencies (FedHatta) in an announcement on Friday, on the problems caused by coronavirus.

The federation said that travel has not stopped “and cannot be stopped, except in the case of a travel directive from of the State for a specific destination where the risk is very high”.

It underlined that travel agencies, following an Education Ministry decision to cancel school trips to Italy, did their best for the immediate organisation and repatriation of the pupils, adding: “In such a case, it is imperative all tourism professionals respect the extraordinary circumstances and do their part.”

Concerning the other planned excursions and trips abroad, FedHatta said they are going ahead as normal.
