ATHENS – State Minister and government spokesman Stelios Petsas announced on Thursday that Athanassios Rantos, senior ranking member, is the new head of the country’s highest administrative court.

“Following a recommendation by the Minister of Justice,” Petsas said in a statement, “the Cabinet appointed as head of the Council of State its senior-ranking vice president, Athanassios Rantos.”

Rantos will replace Ekaterini Sakellaropoulou, who was elected president of the Hellenic Republic and is assuming office in March 2020.
