ATHENS – A pair of Turkish F-16 fighter jets entered Athens Flight Information Region (FIR) on Thursday without submitting flight plans and then proceeded to fly over two Greek islands, the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) announced.

The Turkish military aircraft flew over the islands of Oinousses and Panaghia at 09:47, at an altitude of 24,000 feet.

The Turkish F-16s were recognised and intercepted by Greek fighter jets according to international rules.

In the last two weeks of December, Turkish aircraft had flown over the islands of Oinousses and Panaghia multiple times.

  1. This is not news. It’s been happening for the last 15 years. Shoot down a couple and the Turkos will cry to US and Germany and demand compensation just like when The Israeli commandos shot a few turkos on that Turko jihadi boat going to Gaza
