ATHENS – “Your government does not touch on the heart of the problem, which is the lack of solidarity in the EU,” stated Movement for Change (KINAL) leader Fofi Gennimata during the ‘Hour the Prime Minister’ on Friday in parliament.

Gennimata made the comment during discussion of her question to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on the migration-refugee issue, noting that “our islands and all Greek society are sending out an SOS”.

She called on Mitsotakis to take action, describing the problem as “European and not that of Greece.” She underlined the need for “relocation programmes and a proportional distribution [of refugees and migrants] among the EU countries”.

“Protect our borders, increase the forces and demand for more FRONTEX forces,” she said, addressing the prime minister.
