WEST PALM BEACH, FL – Six year-old Kostantinos currently resides in Greece and has already faced many challenges in his young life. Born with Congenital Femoral Deficiency (PFFD) Paley Type IIA, he has had to undergo several hip and knee surgeries and limb lengthening surgery. Along with his family, he has had to journey back and forth to the U.S. several times to consult with doctors to schedule these surgeries which can only be performed in the U.S. With each procedure, Konstantinos has stayed positive and focused on doing what it takes to ensure his recovery is a success.
Unfortunately, he recently dislocated his hip and must come back to the U.S. to have hip surgery and a rotation of the acetabular. This procedure will require a lengthy recovery time in addition to extensive rehabilitation.
Members of the St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church in West Palm Beach reached out to The National Herald to help spread the word about the GoFund Me campaign to help the family with the financial costs associated with little Konstantinos’ surgeries and procedures.
According to the GoFundMe page, “As you can imagine, this has put a very heavy financial burden on the family. His insurance will not cover the whole amount for this procedure, so we are asking for your help! Any donation is appreciated to relieve the family of this financial hardship, so they can focus on recovery for their son. We thank you in advance for your generosity.”
