Analysis: They Should Stop Playing Games

More than a year or so ago I had written on the issue of granting Autocephaly to the Church of Ukraine. We are revisiting the issue today because of the unholy games that some prelates of the ancient and new Patriarchates and from the Autocephalous Churches continue to play by attacking the very heart of the Orthodox Church, the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

  1. The only one playing games is the EP. He has granted “autocephaly” to a schismatic bishop. The other churches are scandalized, and rightly so, by this unilateral decision, which is wrong for two reasons: he had no right to take such actions; he allied himself with a schismatic bishop. The only mask that has fallen is the one the EP has worn for lo, these many years, which, although suspected but never proved, hid his pretensions to be the pope of the east, the first without equals. The true persona behind the mask is exposed for all to see. Mr. Kalmoukos ought to review the ecclesiology he should have learned as a student at Holy Cross.
