  1. Hmm…timewise and otherwise it all seems just too peculiarly odd that AHEPA is now finally making good on its $1Million pledge for rebuilding St.Nicholas WTC/NYC.
Very “fishy” especially now that Demetrios is out of the picture and Elpidophoros is smiling like a Cheshire Cat ( notice the horns coming out of the head of Supreme President Loucas)!
I’m sure now, suddenly, more money will be( hopefully) forthcoming, despite the politics, and Elpidophoros can continue to smile with every future photo-op.
Only $39 million dollars more to go!

  2. This was just a stunt and a deception. The million dollars represents a cumulative series of contributions and was timed to brown nose the New Turk in New York, as if it mattered.

The Robes’s next move, as scripted by the billionaire boys club, will be to pressure Gov Andrew Cuomo into spending NY State funds to finish the St Nicholas Shrine to World Hellenism. It’s an election year, so Cuomo will cave, especially when the Vicar General makes more promises to deliver votes and money that he can’t do. Maybe AHEPA will look at getting their million back, huh?

The only groups that hold their annual conventions over US Independence Day are the moribund ones and broke ones (cheap hotel rates), like AHEPA and Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Greece. Both are so yesterday, dated, and worn out.

    Yawn. What’s next?

  3. It would be an innovative and magnanimous step towards Orthodox unity in the U.S. if his Eminence and the GOA could somehow specify that the Shrine is Pan-Orthodox.— A true example of Christian harmony at what could be considered one of the most sacred sites in North America.
