ATHENS – Main opposition New Democracy (ND) will table a censure motion against Alternate Health Minister Pavlos Polakis after Easter, ND leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Tuesady during a parliament debate.

Mitsotakis accused the prime minister of supporting Polakis following his comments targeting candidate MEP Stelios Kympouropoulos.
Moreover, he said that the draft law on education is “monstrous” and accused the minister of creating new departments for ideological reasons.

“If Mr Mitsotakis should ever (main opposition New Democracy leader) table a censure motion against a minister, I will turn it into a vote of confidence in the government,” Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Tuesday in parliament, during a debate on education.

He also accused Mitsotakis of trying to avoid a face-to-face debate on crucial issues, “resorting instead to a rare and unprecedented ‘communications diversion’.”
