PIRAEUS – erry services around Greece resumed normal operation after strong winds started to abate on Wednesday. Ships had been forbidden from sailing on Wednesday morning due to high winds reaching up to 9 on the Beaufort scale at sea.
The Aghia Marina-Nea Styra and Kavala-Prinos ferry links were still not running, however, while hydrofoils were sailing at the discretion of the ship’s captain.
Passengers due to travel on Wednesday should contact the local port authorities or their travel agents before departing, in case of changes or cancellations.
Earlier on Wednesday, ships remained docked at the ports of Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio on Wednesday, due to strong winds reaching up to 9 on the Beaufort scale.
