The Song of Winter

Winter this year has forgotten us in New York. It’s not over, of course. We have a long way to go. But we have not really felt it yet.

With an important exception: Last Monday.

The temperature fell sharply. Straight down – like a rock – from 40 degrees to…8.

That’s when I felt it was winter. It was really cold.

I was waiting just a little while at the Queensborough Plaza station to take the train to Astoria, but the cold was unbearable.
