Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
To the Editor:
Thank you for continuing to include such fascinating viewpoints in the newspaper. I appreciate reading diverse opinions about what’s going on in the world, but sometimes I have to shake my head and wonder what some of the writers are thinking. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I had to comment on the article, “Trump Looks Presidential Next to Pelosi and Schumer” by Constantinos E. Scaros, because the footage that I saw showed no sign of anything presidential from any of the participants.
The idea that a wall is going to keep illegal immigrants out of the United States is and always was a ridiculous idea. And what ever happened to Mexico paying for the wall? Oh, it’s my tax dollars that are going to pay for this nonsense instead of some vital programs some people in the U.S. might need. Who cares about taking care of the veterans who fought for our freedom or education or job training for the future?
Let’s just continue with this government shut down over the waste of tax dollars for a 4th century solution to the 21st century immigration problem. A good number of the illegal immigrants arrive by plane, so I guess building a wall around the sky will be next.
So Chuck Schumer may be a “schmuck” but unfortunately, that doesn’t change anything about the current situation. The criminals, the people with problems, and the drugs Trump mentioned are already here in this country and they have been for a long time. Most of the drugs doing the most harm are prescription drugs, opiates, and nobody has a solution, from any political party. All politicians care about is staying in office.
