Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.

Your newspaper is vitally important as it covers Hellenic history to which our children otherwise never be exposed. For example, “The 75th Anniversary of Zakynthos’ Miracle” by John Ackerman (Sept. 15) elucidated the heroic and selfless actions of Archbishop Damaskinos of Athens and the Greek people, who at great personal risk hid Greek Jews from the Nazis during WWll.
Had it not been for your paper, our 13 year-old-son may never have come across this compelling and quintessentially human story.
Thank you for publishing pieces of great historical and spiritual import.
