Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
To the Editor:
I have been following The National Herald’s coverage of the 83rd Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), and I think it has lost its meaning as a fair and has instead become a show for politiciansto present their agendas.
I feel sorry for the exhibitors trying to present their products to the public, looking for business opportunities, and expanding the market for their products. I’m sure they don’t appreciate being overshadowed by politicians exchanging barbs and trying to drum up support for their policies.
The TIF should be about the products and the opportunities for trade, not about politics. It isn’t fair to the country and to the exhibitors. TIF should get back to basics and leave out the political speeches. It’s all a lot of talk, especially with elections coming up.
