Erdogan Stepped in It

Ataturk won. Erdogan stepped in it. And he stepped in it badly.

But in having provoked gods and men, wasn’t that inevitable? What remains to be seen is how bad the outcome will be.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, like the late Andreas Papandreou, borrowed huge sums from abroad to win elections. At least Papandreou was lucky; he passed away before the crisis broke out in Greece.

Erdogan has reached the point he wanted, he has acquired almost dictatorial powers.
But he collapsed …

  1. Are you aware most Arabs are nostalgic for the Ottoman Caliphate? Brits, Jews and Jordanians overthrew the Ottoman empire and those Greeks nostalgic for their Ottoman franchises despise them.
