City of Tarpon Springs Presents Night in the Islands Event

July 15, 2018

TARPON SPRINGS, FLA – On Saturday, August 4, from 6:00-11:00pm, the City of Tarpon Springs will present Night in the Islands – a free event on the world famous Sponge Docks (Dodecanese Blvd between Athens & Roosevelt Streets).

“Enjoy Greek music, dancing, and dining! And we will offer an hour of free Greek dance lessons by the Levendia Dance Troupe from 6-7pm.

“The event features live music by Ellada, an exciting band composed of three of the most accomplished Greek musicians in Florida—Leonidas Zafiris, bouzouki; Elias Poulos, vocals; and Dino Theofilos, keyboard. Ellada will perform in front of the Sponge Exchange. We will also feature the dynamic Demetri Kousathanas playing Greek music on keyboard in the block between Hope & Roosevelt Streets.

“To reserve a table for dinner, please contact participating restaurants Costa’s, Hellas, Mama’s, or Mykonos.

“Night in the Islands will return on October 6, 2018. For more information, contact Tina Bucuvalas at 727-916-0235 or [email protected].”
