MILWAUKEE, WI – NBA All-Star Milwaukee Buck Giannis Antetokounmpo signed a sneaker deal with Nike which was announced last November. The Greek Freak 1, as the sneaker will be called, is due out next fall, according to solecollector.com, which also reported that Nike CEO Mark Parker confirmed the shoe at Nike’s Q2 Earnings Call in December. Since that time, Antetokounmpo has kept fans informed about the progress through social media. In his latest Twitter post about the sneaker on June 27, he asked the fans for some help with the design, “What are the top 2 things you would like to see in my signature shoe? #TheGreekFreak1 #StayFreaky #ShoeOfThePeople.”

The response varied widely from fan to fan, but many would like to see some Greek element in the form of the Greek flag or as one fan posted, “make the straps look like Greek Olympic shoes.”

George C. Pappas of Florida posted a photo of the Evzones with tsarouchia circled, adding “Style them after these.”

Many fans also asked for an affordable price for the sneakers.
