Greek-American Rep. John Sarbanes Comments on Maryland Shooting

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Greek-American Congressman John Sarbanes commented on the shooting at the Capital Gazette on June 28. Rep. Sarbanes who has represented Maryland’s 3rd Congressional District since 2007 spoke with a reporter for CBS 2 News noting that he heard about the incident while in his office in Washington, DC and immediately drove to Annapolis which is his district. The drive took 40 minutes and he watched the incident unfold, CBS 2 News reported.

Sarbanes said a reunification center has been set up for the families affected by the tragedy and there is a responsibility to get the families the information they need. The focus, he noted, is now on the families. The interview was brief as Sarbanes was on his way to the reunification center to meet with the family members of the victims.
