ATHENS – The largest robotics festival in Europe and one of the largest in the world, Robotex, will be organised for the first time in Athens.
The festival was organised for the first time in 2001 by a team of professors in Tallinn, Estonia, has so far been held in ten countries, and attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year.
Stavros Messinis, the founder of “The Cube,” a collaborative hosting venue for teams who want to develop their plans, has undertaken the organization of the Athens Festival on the first weekend of November, with the collaboration of the Open Society Organization. He said the events will include a robotics competition, an show of robotic examples, a conference, and robotics training workshops.
The aim of the Robotex organization in Greece is to help raise the interest of young people in new technologies, mathematics, and engineering and to familiarize society with robots and their applications. It also promotes Greek-based innovations related to robotics and artificial intelligence and connects engineers and scientists with science and roots companies.
