The divergence of American and Greek interests are not attracting as much attention as they should with regard to Turkey.

For example, the United States and Greece have both found themselves on the receiving end of various threats and insults directed by Turkey’s dictator Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Turkish officials earlier in the year threatened the U.S. with an “Ottoman slap”.
