Why the Parade Must Succeed

In my years as a student, the Greek Independence Parade in New York City took place in May. I remember how the warm weather helped attract tens of thousands of Greeks, who flooded Fifth Avenue to feel their national pride, to see each other, and to experience being part of a big family, the Greek community.

  1. It is an open secret that the majority of the parade is Puerto Rican and Pakistani employees of Greek Diners paid to march or attend
