ATHENS – On Thursday, May 28th, 2020, the 18th Special Advisory Committee Assembly for the SNF’s Heath Initiative took place online between representatives of the Greek state and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
The Health Initiative comprises a range of new projects aiming to strengthen the Greek health sector, with a budget expected to exceed $400 million.
The Assembly consists of representatives of the Greek state, including from the Prime Minister’s Office; the Ministry of Health; the Ministry of Education, Research, and Religious Affairs; the Ministry of Finance; the Ministry of Environment and Energy; and the Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport, and Networks. Also taking part are representatives from the National Center for Emergency Care (EKAV); the University of Athens Faculty of Nursing; the General Hospital Evangelismos; Hill International, which has undertaken the management of the infrastructure projects; and SNF. The monthly Assembly meetings ensure effective partnership and cooperation between all parties involved, giving participants the opportunity to stay informed about the development of the overall project, to manage any issues that may arise in a timely manner, and to exchange updates, ideas, and suggestions.
A Special Advisory Committee of representatives of the Greek state and the SNF was also established during the development of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC). The Committee convened regularly to ensure the effective collaboration of all parties involved until the SNFCC was delivered to the people of Greece.
