HONG KONG – A 19-year-old Greek model was arrested at Hong Kong International Airport on Monday after cocaine with an estimated street value of HK$2.4 million ($310K) was found in her rucksack, South China Morning Post reported Tuesday, November 21.
The seizure was made when the 19-year-old woman arrived from Ethiopia on Monday and was selected for a routine inspection at the airport.
Authorities revealed that the woman arrived at Hong Kong Airport after traveling from Ethiopia on Monday (11/20/2017), netralnews.com says.
Then during a routine checkup at one of the world’s busiest airports, the woman who was wearing a black leather jacket and a red miniskirt was found carrying 2.6 kilograms of cocaine stored in her backpack.
According to the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department, the woman was charged with illegal drugs trade.
“The woman will also be held accountable for her actions at West Kowloon Court, Hong Kong, Wednesday (11/22/2017),” according to the South China Morning Post.
The Greek woman is the fourth woman caught in Hong Kong Airport in a week related to the smuggling of dangerous drugs.
