17-Year-Old Student Arrested in Mykonos for Child Pornography

ATHENS — A 17-year-old student accused of possessing and distributing child pornography online was arrested at his home in Mykonos island by officers of the Hellenic Police's Cyber Crime Division, police sources told Athens-Macedonian News Agency on Thursday.

Sources said the teenager was communicating online with a 12-year-old girl, convincing her to send him nude photos and videos of herself. He then sent the sensitive material to the girl's father, asking him for money and threatening to publish the material online.

The girl's mother informed the police, leading to a raid at the teenager's home, where police seized two external drives and a mobile phone that included numerous photos and videos, including images of the girl.

A criminal file was drawn and the arrested teenager was led before a prosecutor, who referred him to an investigator.
