Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
New Britan, CT – Helen (Papadoupoulis) Unaris, 91, of Southington passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Arthur Unaris, who was the former co-owner of Capitol Lunch in New Britain.
She was born in Greece on March 7, 1925, a devoted communicant of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in New Britain. She valued her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, John Unaris of Southington; two grandsons, Ignatios “Gus” Ververis of Plainville and Arthur Ververis of Unionville.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Stasia Ververis.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 301 W. Main St., New Britain, at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in New Britain.
