Astrophysicist Economou Visits Cyprus

NASA is getting ready for a manned mission to Mars but this attempt is not that simple, according to Astrophysicist at the University of Chicago, Thanasis Economou, the Cyprus News Agency reported.

The Greek Astrophysicist, who, since the mid 1960s has been building for various space agencies, like NASA and ESA, instruments for interplanetary spacecraft, was in Cyprus this week at the invitation of the Troodos Development Company and the community of Agridia in the Limassol District of Cyprus to give them guidelines regarding their plans to construct a sky observatory in the Troodos mountains area.

In statements to CNA, the renowned scientist referred to the plans for manned missions to Mars, noting that NASA needs to further develop its technologies before sending astronauts to the red planet.
