Obama Issues Report on Cyprus

WASHINGTON– The new bimonthly report on Cyprus to the Congress, by President Barack Obama, focuses on the historic visit to the island paid by Secretary of State John Kerry last December and on the meetings Vice President Biden had regarding Cyprus, on the sidelines of the Davos World Economic Forum as well as in Turkey, the Cyprus News Agency reported.
The report – issued every two months by Public Law – covers the months of December and January and is prepared since 2004 by the Department of State. A cover letter signed by the Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs Julia Frifield, notes that UN-facilitated efforts toward a comprehensive solution continued in this reporting period, during which the leaders and negotiators continued to make progress in settlement talks.
