Greece Sets Pension Ceiling

The Greek government said it would set the maximum ceiling for an accumulated monthly social security payment at 3,088 euros, with a single pension maxing at 2,473 euros.

The decision means that regardless of how many pensions, or the type of pensions issued, the maximum will reach just more than 3,000 euros.

Deputy Labor Minister Tassos Petropoulos announced in Parliament that 1.28 million people in Greece receive one pension; 995,000 beneficiaries receive two pensions, while 335,000 beneficiaries receive three social security payments.

He even ventured to state that there are four people in Greece who receive 10 different pensions – supplementary and primary.
