Hundreds of employees, volunteers, doctors and nurses - including many Greek Americans - were on hand for the opening of the New York Hospital of Queens West Wing, which took place on Wed. June 16, 2010 in Flushing, NY. The new seven-story, 190,000 square-foot state-of-the-art building was constructed over the past 40 months, following the groundbreaking ceremony in February 2007. According to NYHQ Chairman and CEO Steven Mills, the new building cost $210 million and was built in the midst of a difficult economic period, when three other Queens hospitals closed down, along with one in Manhattan.
