The Cephalonian Brotherhood held a fundraiser for Aravella Simotas on Friday June 11, 2010 at the Pelham Bay Dinerin the Bronx. Simotas is running for New York State Assembly in the 36th district. If elected, she will be the first Greek American legislator elected to the post. The event organizers included Cephalonian Brotherhood President Elias Lorentzatos, past president and host Jerry Stefanitsis, Vikentios Rouhotas, and others from Simotas' native island of Cephalonia.
