The Greek American Community of New England marched in the heart of Boston during the 16th annual Greek Independence Day Parade and once again declared its dedication to the ideals of Democracy and Freedom. Although the weather was generally fair, the turnout did not surpass that of previous years. Most of the crowd had gathered on Boylston and Charles Streets, where the grandstand was set up, next to the Boston Public Garden. The Parade featured the Boston Evzones, dressed in the attire of traditional Greek Revolutionary War heroes.
