The Cebnter for Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies at Queens College, the Cultural Committee of the Archdiocesan Cathedral of Holy Trinity and the Hellenic Amberican Chamber of Commerce presented a lecture featuring Dr. Charles W. Calomiris, a Henry Kaufman Professor of Financial Institutions at Columbia University Graduate School of Business, who spoke on the issue "The Greek Debt Crisis: Is There A Way Out?," on Wednesday evening April 7, 2010 at the Holy Trinity Cathedral Center in New York City. Professor Calomiris is one of the country’s leading authorities on financial institutions. His research spans the areas of banking, corporate finance, financial history and monetary economics. He has advised numerous firms, agencies and governments on the performance and regulation of financial institutions. Dr. Calomiris is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and directs the American Enterprise Institute’s project on financial regulation. He teaches international banking and a case course on business and finance in emerging market economies.
