The National Herald kicked off the celebration of its 95th anniversary on Thursday, March 11, 2010, with a reception dedicated to local area Greek American organizations hosted at this central offices in Long Island City, NY. The Greek Government Spokesperson and Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister Giorgos Petalotis was on had for the event, accompanied by Greece's Consul General in New York Aghi Balta and the head of the Greek press office Polyxeni Mastroperou. Cyprus Consul General in New York Koula Sophianou was also in attendance, along with presidents and officials from many Greek American organizations.
